Tashattot (Arabic for dispersion) is a socio-cultural collective based in Brussels that connects artists and cultural practitioners from the SWANA region living in or passing through Europe. Tashattot creates platforms for artists to showcase their work, share their narratives, and engage with diverse audiences through exhibitions, events, workshops, residencies, performances and other artistic initiatives.
Tashattot Invites on Microwave Radio is a residency developed with Microwave, bringing DJs, producers and live electronic artists from the SWANA region and its diaspora into the radio’s programming. The residency gives artists a space to share their music through live sets, mixes and conversations, whether broadcasting from their homes and studios or joining Microwave’s Brussels studio while touring.
Through Microwave’s open radio format, Tashattot Invites connects artists and listeners across borders, bringing the sounds and practices of the SWANA region into Brussels and creating new links with the city’s independent and electronic music scene.
