Sarah Wanita

Every first Saturday every two months

Originally from Nantes in western France, Sarah Wanita has been based in Brussels for three years. A dancer since childhood, music has always been woven into her life. In 2021, she co-founded the MÄR collective with friends — a project that sparked her path into DJing and deepened her connection to electronic music, its roots and its values. As part of the programming team, she works to create inclusive line-ups that give visibility to emerging talents as well as key figures of the underground. As a DJ, she moves between ambient, progressive, trance and trippy sounds in all their forms. Her musical identity is full of experimentation and constantly evolving, sometimes leaning into more percussive or sensual rhythms.

This residency is a space for her to explore the musical genres she feels deeply connected to — a kind of laboratory of desires, where she sets no boundaries. It is a place for free experimentation, for wandering, and for taking listeners on expansive, unfolding journeys.

Trip in Awe is not driven by genre but by feeling. At its centre lies awe: a rare, complex emotion that blurs the line between wonder and vertigo. Psychologists describe it as a self-transcendent experience — something that makes us feel small yet deeply connected, shifting our focus outward and opening us to something larger than ourselves. Through trippy and hypnotic sounds, the residency seeks to channel that paradox: the mystery, the intensity, the dissolving of edges. It unfolds as a sonic passage into altered states of consciousness, an invitation to drift, expand, and briefly step outside the ordinary.
