Luis Tischer

Luis Tischer is a Munich-born graphic designer, record collector and vinyl selector who has just landed in Brussels. His way into electronic music was the free parties his big sister and her friends threw in Munich, and the feeling of those nights has never let go of him. Back home, he curates and hosts club events across Germany with the Breakfest Crew and works for Radio 80000. He has recently played live concerts built around field recordings and ambient drone music. Always drawn to tripped-out, nostalgic sounds and sample culture, he collects the kind of music that goes on like an echo after the lights come on.

With his show L + and residency at Microwave he wants to look deeper into the early days of electronic music focusing on the more tripped out ambient floor fitting pieces. Searching for the feeling, when the bass is still rumbling somewhere in your ears and the night plays on in your head. Luis plays with extreme pitch bends and unusual rhythms, creating a feeling somewhere between urban nostalgia, free-party memories and ambient floor trip-outs, and mixes his own productions in with recent record finds.

Not too deep, though. Sometimes a good loop is just a good loop.
