Ivan Diaz is a DJ, producer and curator born and raised in Hudson County, New Jersey, where the sounds of Latin culture in the 80s, 90s and 2000s shaped his earliest musical memories. Now based in Brussels, he carries with him a mission that has travelled from New Jersey to Miami, Lisbon, and across 12 countries and 4 continents: building bridges between communities through music and shared experiences. As the founder of ANCESTRAL, he curates a platform dedicated to rhythm, heritage and cultural connection.

His artistic approach blends ancestral rhythms — salsa, cumbia, Afro-Latin traditions — with house and electronic textures to create a sound that feels both grounded in history and oriented toward the future. Intention guides everything: connection, healing and celebration. His inspirations come from his father’s vinyl and CD collection, from the global communities that shaped him, and from the younger generation redefining cultural narratives. Through this residency, he traces the evolution of these sounds while imagining where they might lead next.
